DAVID EDWARDS

DAVID’s introduction to the power of film began when his Dad sat him down at the tender age of 10 to watch The Godfather, and later, Star Wars. While the horse head and demise of Luca Brasi made an indelible impression, it was the voice of Darth Vader that really stuck with him—partly because the neighbor next door was indeed the voice of Darth Vader. Cinema hooked the young lad. After a First Class degree in Graphic Art and Film, and a knack for making a mean Grey Goose Gimlet, David began his career at Virgin TV. There he won a shelf full of awards as a Producer / Creative / Director.

A shout-out in Shots magazine as a “New Director to Watch” soon led to commercial work for an enviable list of brands including Audi, Adidas, Budweiser, BBC, MTV, Sky, and Etihad Airways, among others.  More industry recognition followed: like (5) Kinsale Awards including Best Direction for his “Anti Litter” spot, and a signing at Rattling Stick. His music video for Rudimental’s ‘Powerless’ was nominated for both a MOBO and a MVA.

After honing his voice and finding comfort with filmic narratives and performances—as well as more technique driven pieces—David decided to venture out. He partnered with longtime EP, Ron Cicero, to grow a company of their own. INVADER was born. David continues to add to his body of work; which is often defined by its beautiful compositions, cinematic lighting and graceful camera movement, lensing that serves to heighten the onscreen performances.
